Welcome to Scotsman Point Resort. My name is Andrea Childs. My parents purchased Scotsman Point Resort, on the Trent Severn Waterway, 58 years ago. We have guests who have been coming regularly for many of these 57 years. Some families are fourth generation cottagers at Scotsman Point. All of us look forward each year to renewing friendships and to making new ones. Today, our three-season family resort has 25 cottages on a protected 12-acre point on the north shore of beautiful Upper Buckhorn Lake, just a 99 minute drive NE of Toronto, Ontario, in the spectacular Kawartha Lakes region of Canada. COTTAGE ACCOMMODATIONS Our lakefront housekeeping cottages are clean, modern, and comfortably furnished. All units have fully equipped kitchens, colour TV, electric heat and gas BBQ's. The bedrooms have cosy quilts with matching drapes, good beds and the pillows and 1 blanket per bed are supplied. You may bring your own linens and towels, or arrange ahead of time to rent ours. All bathrooms have toilet, basin and 30" shower or tub. The three-bedroom deluxe cottages and the four-bedroom cottage all have a bathtub. The three-bedroom deluxe cottages are like city bungalows. They have carpet throughout and a patio door out onto a deck overlooking the lake. These cottages were built more recently and are a bit larger then the regular three-bedroom cottages. The other cottages and cabins are the more traditional style cottages with a screened porch and varnished pine floors. In most of these cottages the walls in the living-dining areas are wood paneling. The bedrooms in all of the cottages have freshly painted walls. The bathrooms have a 30" shower. All of the cottages look onto the water, either on the Bay side where the beach is, or on the far side of the Point. All accommodations are individual cottages except apartments C and D. These apartments are two semi-detached units, set back from the lake, that do not have a direct view of the lake. As you can see in our picture, there are lots of mature shade trees throughout our grounds. You are welcome to come and visit the Resort and see the cottages at any time. Just call ahead to let us know you are coming. Consider planning an outing and come for Afternoon Tea! Our Tea Room is open mid-May to mid-October and features our homemade jams and home baking. |
